The Wyoming National Guard Youth Foundation (the Foundation) is a Wyoming incorporated private entity, operating under Internal Revenue Regulations 501.c.3 as a Public Charity. The Foundation was created in 2006 to support the then newly established Wyoming Youth Challenge Program, now operating under the name Wyoming Cowboy Challenge Academy (the Program).
The Foundation’s mission is carried out by volunteer Officers and Directors comprised of Wyoming citizens committed to the educational and lifetime skill-building goals and mission of the WCCA Program. The Program operates under the auspices of the Wyoming Military Department and is financed through the National Guard Youth Challenge Program (of the National Guard Bureau) with matching funds appropriated by the Wyoming State Legislature.
The Foundation’s financial gifts to the Program include scholarship awards, special team-building or educational development opportunities and experiences for Cadets/Students, and occasional financial assistance to an individual Cadet/Student where the need is unique, but limited, and not available to the Cadet/Student under normal operating budget guidelines. All charitable public or private gifts/funds provided to the Foundation are 100% tax deductible donations for the Donor.
